  • Mortality - covers the horse in case of death of the animal
  • Major Medical - covers the cost of catastrophic illness, injury, or surgery in varying amounts from $10,000 to $15,000. There is usually a deductible associated with this insurance. It is relatively inexpensive and costs start at $375.00 per year. You must have mortality insurance to have major medical, and this is available for horses through 15 years of age.
