Tony Kimmons, DVM, IVCA*

Dr. Tony Kimmons has been practicing equine veterinary medicine for more than 26 years. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, TN in 1995. He is a native of Dickson, TN. Initially Dr. Kimmons practiced in the Collierville/ Germantown, TN area. After moving back to Middle Tennessee area in 1996, he became a partner at an equine practice in the area. Then in 2004, Dr. Kimmons established Franklin Equine Services & Veterinary Hospital. His desire to create a state of the art facility that could accommodate the equine veterinary needs of Middle Tennessee and the surrounding region. In addition to traditional veterinary care, Dr. Kimmons offers alternative/complimentary medicine in the form of chiropractic adjustments. He is certified with the IVCA after completing a six month course study with Options for Animals, an accredited school for DVM and chiropractors exclusively. His practice focus includes but is not limited to sports medicine, lameness, therapeutic & rehabilitation, internal medicine, and reproduction. He is proud that his practice consists of multiple breeds and disciplines. Dr. Kimmons is a member of the AAEP, AVMA, TVMA, MTAEP and IVCA. His interests include attending multi-breed equine events, SEC sports, music and traveling.

Dr. Aden Hardison

Dr. Aden Hardison is originally from Jackson, Mississippi. Having loved horses since a little girl, she began working for an equine veterinarian in high school, and knew that was what she wanted to do for a living. She earned a BS in Animal Science and Technology with a minor in Business Administration at Louisiana State University in 2005. After graduating college, Dr. Hardison attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She completed her final year of clinical coursework at Oklahoma State University in January of 2010. Having previously practice in Texas and Colorado for several years, she wanted to move back to the south and closer to family. Dr. Hardison has also been certified in equine chiropractic and acupuncture. She has also taken a course in equine kinesiotaping. She enjoys almost all aspects of veterinary medicine whether its sports medicine, dentistry, reproduction, internal medicine or complimentary therapies.

When not working, Dr. Hardison likes watching LSU Tigers football, playing tennis and enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs Finn and Ridley


 Vandy Starnes

As the practice manager, Vandy oversees the business & management details of Franklin Equine Services. She has taken on these responsibilities since its inception in 2004. A graduate of the University of Memphis with a BBA, majoring in finance, she enjoys being involved not only in the business aspect of this practice, but making sure that client/ patient needs are met. From an early age, she has always loved horses. Vandy is an accomplished equestrian that has ridden and shown since childhood.

She has always had an interest in architecture and design. Prior to the renovation/construction of Franklin Equine Services, Thom Meek, AIA (President of Denovo Concepts) was responsible the architectural design and layout of this facility. In conjunction with his plans, Vandy was able to implement many of the ideas, concepts, styles and colors that reflect the inviting atmosphere that this facility offers. Besides spending time with her family and friends, her interests outside FES include SEC football, sports, multi-breed horse shows, reading and traveling.


 Bryan Blackmon

Bryan has been a staff member at Franklin Equine Services since June 2005. He is a native of Georgia, but spent a great deal of time in this area prior to moving here permanently. Bryan attended MTSU majoring in business. After joining Franklin Equine, Bryan attended Colorado State University and completed course studies in equine reproduction. He is instrumental in the success of the breeding program at Franklin Equine. His duties include but are not limited to veterinary assistance, mobile veterinary inventory control/management and general maintenance. Bryan has a long history of equine involvement through showing and roping. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and skiing (water and snow).


 WhitneY FISHER

Whitney has been a staff member of Franklin Equine Services since October of 2006. Whitney is the office manager and oversees day to day operation of the business office at Franklin Equine. She has been associated with horses her entire life and began showing at the age of 7. Whitney is an honors graduate of the University of Memphis. In 2002, she moved to the Middle Tennessee area. She has one son, Jackson. In 2008, Whitney acquired her license to be an independent agent for equine and farm insurance. She is an agent for Jones Equine Insurance Agency. Besides spending time with her family, her interests include reading, sports, exercise, and going to Titans football games.


 Connie Sweeney

Connie has been at Franklin Equine Services since May of 2009. She has been in the equine industry for over 27 years as office manager and accounting manager at an equine practice. Connie has been married to her best friend, Rick, for over 40 years. The Sweeneys make their home in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and have a son, Ryan. He and his wife, Ginnie blessed Connie and Rick with their first grandchild, Cora, in April 2011. Her family attends church at The Gathering-Franklin. Her interest, besides being a grandmother include SEC and Tennessee Titans football, traveling, scrapbooking, reading, music, and getting together with friends and meeting people.
